Our Story.

Smethwick Church Action Network emerged in 2014 after a group of churches met together with a shared vision to address the physical needs of their neighbours in Smethwick, specifically through food.

Building on the incredible work that went before and standing on the shoulders of the committed Christian leaders of previous generations, Smethwick CAN was born following the success of the Foodbank launched in 2012.

Since becoming a registered charity, Smethwick CAN has expanded its work to include not just a Foodbank, but a Food Pantry, an allotment, co-working spaces, social enterprises, emergency response support and various other projects designed to get people on their feet, happy and healthy after difficult times.
